By accessing and using Guess the Market ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Guess the Market is an educational and entertainment platform that allows users to practice predicting stock price movements using historical and live market data. The App is not a financial advisory service, brokerage, or investment platform.

3. Not Financial Advice

All content, predictions, scores, and rankings on this platform are for educational and entertainment purposes only. Nothing on this App constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. Always consult a qualified financial advisor before making investment decisions.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to update it as necessary. You may not create multiple accounts or impersonate others.

You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed and any contributions to live predictions and discussions will be anonymized. This action is irreversible.

5. Scoring, Tiers & Gamification

The App uses a scoring system based on the Brier score, a statistical method for evaluating the accuracy of probabilistic predictions. Your "Foresight" score is derived from your average Brier score across all predictions.

Players are placed into tiers (Crowd, Informed, Insightful, Visionary, Oracle) based on their relative ranking among all players. Higher tiers unlock additional features, including the ability to vote on live predictions and participate in discussions. Tier thresholds may be adjusted by the App administrators at any time.

The App tracks prediction streaks and awards milestones for consecutive correct predictions. These are displayed on your profile.

6. Live Predictions & Discussions

Live predictions allow qualifying players to vote on the probability of future stock price movements. Eligibility to participate is determined by your leaderboard ranking and is subject to thresholds set by the administrators.

Discussion areas are available on live predictions for eligible players. You retain the ability to edit or delete your own comments. Administrators may remove any content that violates these terms. Discussions are automatically closed once trading commences beyond the prediction start date or when a prediction is settled.

7. Aggregate Benchmarks

The leaderboard includes synthetic benchmark entries (such as "Crowd+", "Informed+", "Insightful+", "Visionary+", and "Oracle+") that represent aggregated predictions from groups of players. These are not real user accounts. They serve as reference points for comparing individual performance against the collective.

8. Research & Analytical Use of Data

With your consent, we may use your predictions in anonymized, aggregate form for research and analytical purposes, including financial analysis and investment-related research. Individual predictions are never shared in a way that identifies you personally.

You may grant or withdraw consent for this use at any time via your profile settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with other users' enjoyment of the App
• Post offensive, abusive, or inappropriate content in comments or profiles
• Use automated tools to interact with the App without permission
• Scrape, harvest, or systematically collect data from the App

10. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and functionality of the App are owned by Guess the Market and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Stock market data is provided by third-party sources and is subject to their respective terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any financial losses incurred based on information or predictions shown on this platform. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any market data displayed.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
